Ultrasound 2019

The 51st annual scientific meeting of the British Medical Ultrasound Society was held in Harrogate in December.

The conference theme this year was ‘Diagnosis, disease and delivery’ which, according to the organising committee, aimed to “not only provide high quality ultrasound education but also give consideration to disease processes and the impact of the changing landscape of ultrasound on the delivery of services.”

The Donald MacVicar Brown Lecture was entitled ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ and was delivered by Dr Trish Chudleigh from The Rosie Hospital, Cambridge, and the University of Hertfordshire.

More than 550 delegates attended the three-day meeting with over 25 exhibitors taking part in the technical exhibition.

Ultrasound 2020 will be held on December 8-10 at City Hall, Cardiff.
