Orkney radiology team procures DR equipment for new department at The Balfour

NHS Orkney’s radiology team has chosen MIS Healthcare to supply Samsung DR equipment for the radiology department at The Balfour, a new hospital completed last year.

Radiology services manager Mike Beach said: “MIS and Samsung provided state-of-the-art DR systems for the new department, enabling reliability, high quality images and low doses for the population of Orkney. NHS Orkney ordered two DR rooms and two DR mobiles to provide the radiography service.”

In addition, the radiology team chose Fujifilm to supply a computed radiography solution and is taking delivery of GE Healthcare ultrasound machines and a Philips UKI mobile image intensifier.

Beach explained that GE Healthcare had moved the CT scanner into the new build from the old hospital successfully, keeping to the project timetable and causing minimal disruption.
