The World Radiography Educational Trust Foundation (WRETF) has appointed Dr Keith Piper as a trustee. As programme director of the MSc course on clinical reporting at Canterbury Christ Church University for over 20 years, he is no stranger to educational matters having developed and provided training courses for UK and overseas students.
His interest in image interpretation and clinical reporting is particularly pertinent to the work of the WRETF as the lack of resources in developing countries often means that radiographic staff have to make and take such decisions in the absence of other clinical staff.
Dr Piper has also been a prolific researcher and has worked on many research projects in his career, often putting together successful funding bids. “I am sure Keith’s nose for fund-raising will be put to good use in some of our funding activities,” said acting honorary secretary Alan Budge. “We are particularly lucky to have Keith on board as his education skillset will be vital in helping the WRETF bursary programme as it blossoms. He is well-regarded as a teacher of considerable experience in his own right.”
It is Dr Piper’s teaching work in the School of Public and Allied Health Professions at Canterbury Christ Church University for which he best known. He has also amassed much external examination experience.
