Projects boosted by Radiological Research Trust
Over the past few years the Radiological Research Trust (RRT) has funded several key start up research projects including ‘Technical validation of a novel MRI technique for quantification of bone mineral density’ and ‘Quantitative magnetic resonance imaging in juvenile idiopathic arthritis,’ headed by trainee radiologists Naomi Sakai and Tim Bray (pictured).
The grants are intended to improve patient care and help develop the research and careers of early years researchers working in medical imaging.
Funding was possible due to the generosity of various donors, organisations and individuals including GE Healthcare, Siemens Healthineers and Canon Medical Systems (formerly Toshiba.)
As a charity the RRT is dependent upon donations to enable it to distribute grants for research and education in medical imaging. Information on the range of grants that have been awarded in recent years can be found on the trust’s website.
