St Richard’s reinstates five-day service with arrival of Technegas generator

St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, has received a Technegas generator supplied by IEL, which produces an ultra-fine dispersion of Technetium-labelled carbon in a controlled environment.

Superintendent radiographer Lisa O’Brien said: “Following the untimely demise of our nuclear medicine VQ ventilation system we were delighted with the arrival of our Technegas equipment. Since its installation we have been able to reinstate a full five-day service, which has delighted many of our colleagues due to the improved workflow. We now have the potential to offer same-day scanning, which is particularly beneficial in achieving faster diagnoses for our acute patients.”
